10 Months

10 months (tear...). you are such a big, yet tiny girl. 15lbs to be exact. found that out when we went to see if double ear infection #3 was better. the dr. said "well, it doesn't look infected anymore, but there is a lot of fluid so it probably will be infected soon." awesome. we need our own personal parking spot and better insurance. you still don't love liquids, but you're better than last month. fairly proficient at the pincer grasp, but finger foods are limited by your lack of teeth. just two bottom ones that you've had for months. you babble away all day long and drumroll please....you said "mama" a few days after your 10 month birthday! it never bothered me that you said "dada" but it sure warmed my heart when you said "mmmm mama". you also started putting your face in the water during bath time and blowing bubbles. you think it's hysterical!! and i'm hoping this means you'll like the pool this summer. DEFINITELY more opinionated these days. still a super happy girl, but if you don't like something (for example being still to have your diaper changed) you can turn on the water works in seconds! good grief... you make daddy and i so happy and i am counting the days until residency is over and i see your sweet face every morning!

you were definitely on the go for all of these pics, but at least you're over the tongue phase!

Sick and Shoes

trying to squeeze in a post between the 9 and 10 month posts since those are often the only ones i get around to. life has been a little crazy. my job is a little busier than average, dewey has lost flexibility in his job for the next two months, and both sets of grandparents are gone! but we are cruising through and of course each day we seem to figure out something. only once did i BARELY make it to daycare before closing time... lofton is more adorable and more fun by the day. she is into sharing these days (clearly didn't get the only child genes from her father... one for me!) and it is just adorable. she shares her toys, her paci, and her kisses. dewey and i both race home to plop on the floor for that one glorious hour of family time that we usually get to share. each day when we pick her up from daycare we get a little sheet that says when she ate, napped, etc. there is also a comment section from her teachers and on thursday it said, "lofton so entertains us with her laughs and smiles. we know she is just putting us on! all the teachers at school have to stop by and see her and talk to her each day. she puts on quite a show. what a personality!" such a true description of our little gift.
last week lofton began coughing, sniffling, and running a low grade temp. we took her to the doctor saturday morning and sure enough...double ear infection #3 :( we talked a bit about the possibility of tubes. hopefully we can keep this girl well. she was really sad with this one for about 2 days. the silver lining was the entire day of cuddling we had together. she is usually way too busy to cuddle!
headed home from the pedi. pitiful!

pretty much what we did last saturday

happy girl a week later! going to buy SHOES!

trying to climb into the tub :)
