Busy Girl

didn't get any great pictures (of course) but this little bit is on 2's instead of all 4's most of the time these days. in true lofton fashion she has begun this journey running rather than walking so we fall A LOT but she generally just giggles. and how cute are the ruffles?? i love having a girl...i need a dozen more....

1 year of fun!

seriously?!? how can it be a year already? i still remember every last detail of her delivery, our first night at home when the tv broke and the fire alarm went off, that month that we slept on the couch together between 1-5 in the morning b/c little bit wouldn't go back to sleep (and mommy wouldn't put her down). our life is fuller with you miss lofton elizabeth and the Lord shows us His love each and every day through you.

On to the party. let me start by saying that i have been fighting back tears (and sometimes losing the battle) off and on for days. i'm not sad, per say, just overwhelmed with emotion of the speed and joy of our life. my sweet husband, of course, doesn't get it AT ALL. "it's going to be a long few years if you cry at every milestone." :)
Her birthday fell on a Thursday so we just celebrated with our little family, some mac 'n cheese, a cupcake, and some presents. it was a sweet time. the party was today and i had been planning off and on for months between the hectic lives we lead. here are the few "uh-ohs" of the event.
1. the invitation-i found this adorable cupcake invite. soft and sweet and exactly what i wanted. well i ordered it and surprise, surprise my call schedule changed approximately 12hrs after my order was shipped and i was no longer available on that date. since this invitation was SO precious it was sold out the following day so there is white out on my invites. not sure if emily post approves :)
2. the birthday outfit-i picked out this precious baby pink bubble with cupcake applique and her monogram in JANUARY. i waited until the beginning of april to order in case she hit a growth spurt (she didn't) and finally got an email at the beginning of the month that it shipped. it was lost in the mail. a second one was shipped tuesday and arrived friday!...signature required and no one was home (b/c i have a job. otherwise i could have made it myself). redelivered saturday after her party :)
3. the cake- picked up her precious smash cake and opened the box to see "Loston" they were able to fix it on the spot.
all in all, a lot of funny snafus (no clue how that is spelled) that led up to the most perfect party. filled with friends and family and a lot of love for our precious precious little girl. thank all of you for loving our angel and making her life better. xoxo!!
lots of pics...

First Mother's Day...

Motherhood is the most beautiful gift that the Lord has given me.
It has taught me how to love more than I knew was possible.
It has taught me how to be selfless and not think twice about it.

I have always wanted children, but now it is my heart's desire.

Before Lofton Elizabeth I had the freedom to eat and sleep when I wanted. I often miss out on both of those and I could not care less.

My life is full and my heart overflows.

I look forward to many more years and many more babies to love.

Not my ideal mother's day... at work, but I had great visitors and had the opportunity to tell a LOT of women happy mother's day for the very first time!
