Easter & Ears

it seems like we're quickly running out of firsts around here, but we sure enjoyed Lofton's first easter. we went over to gigi and papa j's house to dye eggs with parker and peyton and then we went to church saturday night. the little lady was ready to go home by the time we were finished. it was 7:15 and her bedtime for sure! sunday morning rolled around and our little alarm got up at 6:30. the easter bunny was sleeping in, so he came during nap time and lofton had so much fun unloading her basket, trying to eat the eggs (which started leaking blue dye on her smocking), and playing with her toys. the bunny brought a few things to gigi and papa j's house as well so they so kindly brought them over. she LOVES her fisher price learning table and the goldfish filled plastic eggs! we enjoyed a yummy brunch and then spent the afternoon relaxing.

in other news, we bit the bullet and met with an ENT on last monday to see about getting ear tubes. fortunately, he had an opening the same week and i was post-call so we went in friday morning. mommy was definitely more concerned than little miss, but she didn't have to have an IV, a hospital gown, or a breathing tube. a little nasal narcotic, a little gas, and about 10 minutes later she was back in my arms. we literally got there at 7:30 to check in, they took her to the OR at 8:20, back in my arms drinking juice at 8:30, and eating pancakes at le peep with the fam by 9! they told us she'd be cranky from the anesthesia for a little bit, but of course she proved them wrong. never let out a peep! that is until we got to le peep where her happy voice had turned up the volume drastically. now that she can hear she's testing things out apparently!

this is post-op (that is if she ACTUALLY had surgery. we have our doubts...)

and one more time b/c she's sweet and i'm no computer genius!

11 Months (and a little bit)

So we're a week late on this one. I was so excited for her 11 month bday to fall on a weekend so i could get pictures on the actual day, but alas she was sick (gasp!). we're now on ear infection #5 and yes, the appointment with the ENT to get this doll some tubes is monday.
At 11 months Lofton is 15lb 13oz!! this is a big jump for us (about 2/3 a pound this month) and i think we're well on our way to 6-9 month clothing :) Lofton can stand solo for a little while, but will only do so if it's her idea. if you try and stand her up, she immediately sits back down... we've seen a few steps here and there and she constantly lets go of furniture and turns to walk off (and crashes to the ground). a few days before she turned 11 months she finally began clapping and waving and does so constantly. she knows how to "zurber" and will do that to her baby dolls, your arm, her own hand, side of the crib, etc. she cracks herself up. she is also a total love bug. she plays hard but often turns back to give a kiss or a hug. daddy is still her favorite playmate, but mommy's arms win her heart. she is a joy as always, although we can tell that she's not quite herself with those darn ears. we'll get that fixed up my love. promise! below are a LOT of pics from today. i like to call them "anything-but-sitting-still-and-smiling-at-the-camera!"

new favorite face of hers. she does it all the time. loves to drop something off of the side of her crib/high chair and then give you this look like she has no idea how her cheerios ended up on the floor...

we celebrated peyton's 4th birthday at the american girl store. lofton had been running a nightly fever and had missed her nap because of a saturday morning trip to the pediatrician, but she rallied! here are just a few pics of the girlies.
we love gigi!

my long legged girl. she'd wear something smocked everyday if i could afford it...

Number 4...

That would be the number of ear infections that we have now been diagnosed with since December :( Poor little doll. She gets a runny nose and by the time she has a congested cough, the ears are infected. So the decision has been made. We will have minor sugery to have tubes placed. Such a small thing until it's your baby needing anesthesia. I knew it was coming, we've been talking about it for awhile, but I still shed some tears. The optimal time to have them placed would be next fall so that hopefully we can make it through the winter before they fall out. However, in order to wait we need to get that girl out of daycare. Any nanny suggestions that can come to Garland and then move up to Frisco with us would be greatly appreciated! Below are a few pics (completely out of order, darn blog). We spent last Saturday evening having fun and enjoying the weather with family and the others are of little bit enjoying are outing to Target :) oh, and "big" news. She gained one ounce this month. May have something to do with the fact that she NEVER stops and even stood solo for the first time on April 1st.
