Rosemary Beach

so, i'm WAY behind on blogging, but to say life has been "a bit hectic" would be an understatement. in the last month we have sold our home, we're not quite sure where we're moving (in 2 weeks!), i completed a research project and presented it, dewey had a major trial, we took our first family vacation, and i graduated residency and one week later took my written board exams! i'm exhausted just typing that :)
we'll just focus on the vaca. it was FABULOUS! if anyone is looking for a fun family vacation i definitely recommend rosemary beach. it's in a strand of beaches between destin and panama city beach, florida and it is pleasantville in real life. adorable homes intermixed with cute shops and fun restaurants with millions of families all riding their bikes dressed in seersucker, monogrammed dresses, and wide-brimmed hats. there are patches of green where everyone leaves their bikes when they run down to the beach and the area is full of ice cream and completely devoid of litter and crime. my parents rented a home and we had the whole fam (sans the jeremy/marti fam due to the arrival of precious presley!). sweet abigail and kendall claire were such a big help with a VERY busy lofton pie! we spent our days by the beach (lofton liked the sand more than the ocean) and by the pool. and of course each day had at least one trip to the sugar shak for ice cream....this was L's absolute favorite part! thanks mom and dad for the fabulous vacation. can we go again next month??

waiting in the airport. i planned the 2-part flight during her nap so she would sleep just like she did when the 2 of us flew to houston in january. back fire! busy, not totally happy, very sleepy girl. oh well, she conked out in the car and then stayed up late to play :)
her normal bedtime didn't exactly happen, but she was SUCH a trooper! we are so blessed to have a sweet and happy baby girl

movie night on the lawn at rosemary beach. there was music and a popcorn machine. too cute!

love these 3

who needs a stroller when you have a daddy??

about to have her 1st taste of ice cream. she drew quite the crowd and i even overheard a stranger telling someone "that baby needs her own tv show!" yes, she is quite the little ham :)

and i forgot to post it before, but here are L's stats from her 1yr visit

height 28in (15th%)

head 44cm (25th%)

weight 16lb 6oz (<3rd%)

we had a brief stent on the weight growth curve, but walking led to our downfall i'm sure :) oh well, she's happy and thriving. she says dog, ball, night night (and lies down or covers up a baby doll), bye bye/hi (ALWAYS with a wave). she says mama and dada but not necessarily for us. she shares that love with pretty much everyone :) she is super duper busy. a full time walker for about 3 weeks now. when you go to get her in the morning she is literally running back and forth in her crib pointing to different toys that she wants. no more morning snuggle. pretty sure she spends 11 hrs of night time sleep just winding up so she can go, go, go!
