We had a great whirlwind of a Christmas this year. I was on call the 23rd-26th BUT what a difference that phrase means in private practice then it did in residency! Instead of spending 24hr shifts planted in the hospital, I simply rounded in the mornings, fielded a few phone calls, and caught a baby or two. Plus since little miss hasn't quite caught on to the Santa gig, it's easy to do presents on a different day or during nap time. We hung out at Gigi and Papa J's for a few hours on Christmas Eve. Christmas morning I woke up early to round and then Mimi came over for breakfast and LOTS of toys. Dewey and I (Santa) bought just a couple of presents knowing that grandparents tend to get carried away. Plus we really want to start the tradition of three gifts just as the wisemen brought Jesus 3 gifts. After naptime (and a quick ER trip for some family chest pain...) we whipped together a Christmas dinner. On the 27th we had Smith family Christmas compliments of Campisi's! It was delicious. The presents were insane as always. Even when the adults draw names and the kids are limited on gifts it just adds up with 6 kids and 11 adults. Lofton ran around like an absolute crazy woman! Her shoes kept falling off, so i removed the tights so she wouldn't slip, she ripped out her bow, and i tucked her dress into her bloomers so she would stop tripping while dive bombing up the stairs :) Below is the staged pic. I should have gotten a picture of the reality of wonderful crazy which is our life with a toddler...
