we had a busy and super fun july 4th weekend. last year we had a 7 week old, wow! what a difference a year makes... on saturday, we drove to cedar creek lake where friends of ours-carly, sam, and miss charlotte thompson-have a lake house. we have not seen them since december and i was thrilled to get the chance to spend time with such sweeties! the boys spent the day working (haha) with a few drinks and games in between. carly and i just loved on each other's girls, caught up, and may or may not have taken down a bottle of wine while floating in the lake during naptime. L and C had such fun together. Their age gap doesn't seem to be as big as it once was (4.5 months) but charlotte has learned to share and we're not quite there. Lofton would steal a toy right out of Charlotte's hand and Char would yell "share! share! share!" it was the cutest thing i've ever seen. we stayed until close to 9 (way past my party popper's bedtime) but she managed to talk to herself in the car for a good hour of the way home :)
best friends forever

sunday afternoon/evening we hung out at dewey's parents' house and had some yummy grilled food and time with his parents. somehow we forgot to take pictures... we considered (well i considered. dewey didn't :) stopping by the july 4th festivities in downtown rowlett on our way home. miss priss fell asleep in the car. not quite big enough for everything yet.
lastly, we spent sunday (the actual 4th) at gigi and papa j's house. the whole fam was there. yes, that is 9 adults and 6 kiddos. fun, crazy, loud times. we also doubled this shindig as an opportunity to celebrate miss presley and give her a few "necessities" like monogrammed blankets, stuffed animals, and too cute tiny outfits.
