July 4, 2012

We had a fun and BUSY July 4th this year.  Tuesday is my Mommy/surgery day at work anyway so I was off, and July 4th fell on a Wednesday so we had a little two day vaca :)
On Tuesday we headed to our friends the Thompson's lake house.  This was our second annual July 4th trip.  I'm not 100% sure that they realize it's an annual event, but they'll get the hint when we show up again next year :)
Lofton and Charlotte are about 5months apart in age, and although it initially seemed like a world of difference, the gap is definitely closing.  They hadn't seen each other since Christmas but were fast friends.  Lofton talked about Charlotte for days after their visit.  I believe the highlight was the "nap" that they took together.  Hysterical.  No sleep was had, but they chatted, and giggled, and stirred up trouble, and got the guiltiest looks you have ever seen when I would walk in the room to check on them.  Lofton went on her first boat ride, and I believe she would have loved it if it hadn't been for the life jacket that was choking her :)

Right after this shot Charlotte turned to Lofton and said, "I like your outfit!"  What girlie girls!
Fascinated with Char's little sis Olivia.  "Mama, do you want to pet her?"
 Buddies

On the actual 4th we had some friends over for swimming and dinner.  The kids were hysterical and I was so happy that our downstairs is open and comfy for them to run around crazy.  We had three 2 yr olds, one 1 yr old, and an infant.  So crazy, but so fun.  The kids even helped clean up toys at the end of the night.  It's amazing how well they play together.    I hope to have many more nights just like this one!

 Aiden (2 1/2), Kaylee (2 3/4), Lofton (2), Kaidence (5 months), Ryan (2), Brady (1)
 Proof of LOTS of fun
 Up to no good :)
" Hey Aiden.  Let's slide!"
